My Chocolate Adventure

I'm not one for writing fairy tales with happy endings, or even romance's where the guy always gets the girl. I'm more of a blood and guts, twist at the end kind of story teller..

Having said all that, when Raven & Drake opened up their call for Candy Capers I was hesitant, heck I am still hesitant and I have nearly 1000 words written. How am I going to write a kid friendly story about candy?

The proceeds from book sales will be donated to support brain tumor research. Brain issues are a big tug for me. If it wasn't for research, then I wouldn't have my RNS Device helping to keep my seizures at bay. So getting a story into this one will definitely be close to my heart.

So what do you write about that is all chocolate and candy? How do you keep it kid friendly? That is what I struggle with, keeping it kid friendly. We dont want monsters coming up out of a river made of chocolate to devour one of our characters while our little ones are expecting happy endings. I think I may have a plan for a newlywed couple to have their first anniversary surrounded by chocolate and sugar confections. I sent it in over the weekend. Fingers crossed

I also have something rolling around for Breaking Rules Europe for their Adventure Awaits call. A couple of characters that I am very familiar with are participating in something they love. When something traumatic occurs, they are forced to suffer role reversal as they undergo battles of their own.
